As a member of the social committee at NSW’s Lindfield Public School, Annabelle Woodhouse helps arrange trivia nights, movie nights, and breakfasts, normally raising between $5,000-$20,000 from any given event.

Always on the lookout for new ways to fundraise, she learned about Australia’s leading school fundraising program – School Fun Run – through a mum at a different school.

The events for kids looked like heaps of fun: fun competitions, explosions of coloured powder, bubble machines, inflatables, and happy kids, all to raise important funds for school projects.

However, Annabelle still wondered…”how much money could my school actually raise?”

Getting decision-makers over the line

So she took the next step to find out: Annabelle met with the School Fun Run team to gather and vet the critical info: What results can we realistically expect for our school? How would we manage the setup process? What about the cleanup?

Satisfied with the answers – simple setup, quick and easy cleanup, and proven results for schools of all sizes – she presented to her committee and principal…then boom! Annabelle had the signoff she needed to choose an event date, get her school’s students excited, and start promoting the fun run.

How did School Fun Run help plan the event?

Each school that registers is assigned a dedicated Fundraising Coach for support through the entire process. The Fundraising Coach goes above and beyond, creating fun run and engagement plans tailored for the school, pre-written social media posts, and access to the custom website used to track fundraising progress in real-time.

Annabelle said,

“The School Fun Run team was so approachable and professional, helpful. I felt like I could ask any question at any time.”

Competitions, challenges, and prizes

It’s no secret that kids are competitive and want something in return for hard work. During School Fun Run, students can redeem special prizes based on how much they raise.

Lindfield also started its own competition at the school, offering an award to each week’s top-raising student! Another weekly challenge involved asking students to share what they’ve done to raise money, keeping students involved and focused on the goal.

Lindfield Public School’s record-breaking results

Powered by JustGiving, Lindfield Public School raised $91,858 for an upgraded playground and new outdoor learning space in a single COVID-safe fundraising event!

The excitement and success of the campaign and event created a memory the kids will never forget and a legacy the school will carry with it forever.
