Breaking Bad Star RJ Mitte to Keynote Blackbaud’s Annual Conference for Nonprofits

(NASDAQ: BLKB) today announced Breaking Bad and Switched at Birth star, and Shriners Hospitals for Children® Love Ambassador RJ Mitte, as keynote speaker for bbcon 2014. Through its new theme Power On!, the conference, which will be held October 6 – 8 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN, will provide attendees the chance to re-ignite their passion, network with nonprofit leaders and peers, embrace emerging trends and more.

Just three years old when he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, RJ never let his disabilities deter his drive to succeed in television and film. RJ will share his story of how Shriners Hospitals for Children played a critical role in his own journey to success.

Attendees will gain new insight and share ideas through more than 160 break-out sessions, many of which qualify for CPE and CFRE credits. Sessions include product roadmaps, hands-on training, Blackbaud technology demonstrations and more. New this year to bbcon is Big Idea Day. Facilitated by leading industry experts, Big Idea Day will offer nonprofit leaders a platform to network and engage in rich dialogue on various thought leadership topics.
In addition, the Blackbaud Nonprofit Impact Awards, which honor nonprofits that use technology to make a positive impact on constituents and society, are open for nominations through August 15. Nonprofits can enter in the following categories: Most Impactful Use of Blackbaud Technology, Best Use of Multichannel Marketing, Best Use of Peer-to-Peer/Special Events, Best Use of Analytics/Prospect Research and Best Fundraising/Support Cultivation Idea. The winner from each category will receive a donation to their organization, plus free registration to bbcon 2014 where they will be honored by Blackbaud and their peers.
To celebrate the work of nonprofits and honor their commitment to making a difference in the world, country music singer/song writer Phil Vassar will put on a special concert on Tuesday, October 7 for attendees.
